Conferences for Teachers
Essex Learning for Sustainability Conference for Teachers
Thursday 22nd March 2012, 9am to 4.15pm
If you are a teacher and interested in finding out more about Learning Outside the Classroom from a whole host of education providers, come and join us at Barleylands for the annual Essex Learning for Sustainability ‘Classrooms Without Walls’ full day conference for Heads, Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
Essex Learning for Sustainability (ELfS) brings together groups and individuals from across Essex who offer programmes of environmental education and education for sustainable development for the benefit of schools, other groups of young people and the wider public.
The ‘Classrooms Without Walls’ is a popular annual conference for Infant and Primary School Teaching Staff. Previous conferences have been held at Danbury Outdoors and Wat Tyler Centre and have been well attended by teaching staff from across Essex, Thurrock, Southend and Havering. Outdoor and sustainable education providers from across the county will be providing a wide range of conference workshops for teaching staff. Keynote speakers are Marion Smith Head Teacher of Thomas Willingale school, with many fantastic examples of learning outside the classroom and David Watson Head of Arable Operations - Cooperative Farms, who will discuss the importance of connecting children with farming.
A locally produced ploughmans lunch will be provided.
£80 for 1st delegate
£40 for 2nd delegate
Attending schools will be able to enter a draw to receive a financial contribution of up to £100 towards a Learning Outside the Classroom experience with ELfS.
