EYFS Visits

Children can meet and feed the animals, turn their hand to milking Molly the milkable cow, and enjoy a tractor and trailer ride to visit the crops. Step inside the wonderful Discovery Centre and enjoy our interactive displays.  Grind some wheat, watch it turn into flour and find out more about the jorney of our food from field to fork.

If you would like a teacher led visit, we can arrange a bespoke day to suit the age and number of children.

Themes include;

Where does my food come from:
Children will meet the animals and visit our crops, explore a variety of seeds and the foodstuffs they turn into.  There is the opportunity to take part in some cooking or plant some seeds.

Little Red Hen Days:
Where better to follow the story than on the farm itself! Listen to Little Red Hen’s Story, take a tractor and trailer ride to the wheat field, grind some wheat in our Discovery Centre, make bread in the Barleylands kitchen, visit the farm and meet the hens.

Meet the Lambs in Spring:
Meet the animals in the park, take a tractor and trailer ride round the farm and feed the lambs. Get crafty and make a pom pom or woolly sheep to take home.

My breakfast:
Find out what seeds we need to grow to make the bread you toast and the cereal you have in the morning. Children will taste a variety of breakfast cereals: cheerios, weetabix, porridge and cornflakes with milk. Meet and milk Molly and visit the other animals on the farm.

Why not take a ride on Derek the diesel engine, listen to him whistle and see what you can spot on your journey around the farmhouse. £1 extra
