Barleylands' tour of Essex Schools
17 May 2012

Local schools are set to benefit from the wishing well funds raised at Barleylands Farm Park and Craft Village which have been donated to the charity Farming and Countryside Education (FACE).

The charity aims to inspire children to learn more about food, farming and countryside and will be using the money to finance a road show which will tour a number of local Essex Schools.

Barleylands Education Officer, Karen Watson is thrilled to be working with FACE "we have developed our own outreach programme over the past few years however due to cost, we are not always able to reach the numbers of schools that we would like to.  A priority for us is to educate as many children as possible about the importance of healthy eating and encourage them to think about where their food comes from.  We are delighted to be able to support the FACE charity in delivering this important message"
