As well as visiting the animals at our Farm Park, school children visiting Barleylands during May, June and July will have the opportunity to travel by tractor and trailer to see crops growing, examine the plants, learn about their life cycle and why we grow them.

Children all over Essex are going home with a better understanding of how their food is produced and its journey from farm to fork.

We are busy planting potatoes at the moment which children coming on school visits in the autumn can dig up and use to make a healthy winter soup to take home.
