As supporters of the Farmhouse Breakfast Week campaign, the education team at Barleylands are getting ready to go out into schools next week. The event is an annual campaign run by the HGCA (the cereals and oilseed division of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board) and the aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the benefits of eating a healthy breakfast and demonstrate the variety of breakfast foods available in the UK. The theme is “Shake Up Your Wake Up”, and we will be showing children the seeds farmers plant to grow healthy cereals and how our food gets from our fields to their breakfast table. We will be talking to them about how making small changes to their morning routine will make sure they have time for breakfast every day.
