SCHOOL VISITS

Get a BUZZ out of learning at Barleylands!

Barleylands is a unique farm based attraction in a countryside location with an animal centre and craft village with over 50 individual studios. We have specialised in providing schools with great educational days out for the past 21 years and many schools return year after year.

Your visit to Barleylands can be as practical as you wish and we can tailor the visit to suit the needs of your group. We offer activities for students in Key Stages 1 to 4 as well as catering for the needs of Foundation Level and Reception classes.

Our Education Programme offers activities linking to the National Curriculum at all Key Stages. Students can learn about farming and the environment – with particular links to science and geography. We now have an Education Room for Schools, which can be used for workshops and as a base for the entire visit which provides a warm, dry area all year round.

At the end of May 2008 our new Farming Discovery Centre will be opening. It will be the perfect place to help students to learn about farming, the countryside and environment, as well as local history, technology and food. Fun interactives, a chance to experience the sights and sounds of farming, and the opportunity to handle objects from the past will make this a perfect attraction for your school visit.
