Weekend Barleylands Football Golf Assistant
Barleylands Football Golf are looking for a new Weekend Assistant to work for our new Football Golf Business every weekend through Spring & Summer 2024.
This is a new role at a very exciting time for the business with the final touches being made to the course and preparations being completed behind the scenes. We are currently recruiting a new team to work on the Golf Park starting in May 2024.
Based at Barleylands Farm, Essex as part of our family run business, the ideal person will have excellent interpersonal skills, be competent on a EPOS system/till, well organized, good timekeeper, reliable, trustworthy, flexible and have a positive attitude.
Weekend Opening Hours are 10am to Dusk, and you will be required to start before opening hours until we close on a Saturday and Sunday. There will be opportunity to do additional hours before opening on ground maintenance and at busy times during school holidays and late Summer evenings.
You will be given a good remuneration package with free on-site parking and discounts at our on-site businesses.

Temporary Educational Assistants – May to July 2024
We are looking for flexible and enthusiastic Temporary Education Assistants to join our busy team from April to July 2024. The role would suit retired teachers, gap year students, or anyone who loves teaching children and imparting knowledge about food, farming and the countryside to groups of children from early years to KS2.

Education Assistants
The Barleylands Education team facilitate a variety of themed educational days to link with the curriculum, and through fun, interactive activities and cookery workshops, give children a better understanding of where their food comes from, and the importance of a healthy balanced diet.
We are always looking for enthusiastic and lively individuals to join the team, hosting school visits. If you have the skills and attributes we are seeking, we would love to hear from you.
The role is not full time. You would be required term time only on days when schools are visiting, and your working hours would generally be between 8.30 a.m. and 3.30p.m.
This role would suit people returning to teaching or looking for part time work teaching children.
About you
- A fun and passionate person who enjoys teaching children
- Happy to lead large groups, imparting knowledge, facilitating hands on activities and checking that learning objectives are being met.
- Experience in working with EYFS, KS1 and KS2 children would be an advantage, but not necessary.
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Have a flexible work approach and be able to use your own initiative
- Be adaptable to an ever-changing working environment
- Be willing to absorb and relay information regarding Food, Farming and the Environment
- Hold a full/clean UK Driving Licence

• We are a team of two part time Education Managers and around 10 Education Assistants.
• We facilitate visits during term time only, therefore the job is not full time.
• We require staff to be flexible, as due to the nature of the programme we cannot offer set hour/days. It works well if you are looking for part time work or wish additional hours of teaching alongside another post.
• Working hours are between 8.30 and 3.30 according to demand.
