At Barleylands, we like our guests to enjoy the very best experience we can offer including those with disabilities.
We work hard to try and create a relaxing and stress-free environment for parents and children to visit.
We have a large, free level car park with dedicated disabled parking bays and coach parking. If you are travelling via public transport, bus stops are located outside the Village gates, with the number 100 bus linking us to both Billericay and Basildon. Wheelchairs are available for your use. Please phone in advance to book.
Throughout the year we welcome various disabled groups to our Farm Park and Village. If you would like to enquire about group visits please click here.
Guide/assistance dogs are welcome at Barleylands.
The Farm Park is on one level with benches positioned throughout and the majority of paths are an all-weather surface. All areas are on ground level apart from Nocturnal and Exotics House which has two levels. There is a wheelchair/pushchair accessible lift to gain entry to the upper floor.
Within the Farm Park we have a disabled toilet and if you require adult changing facilities this can be arranged by phoning in advance.
Our Tractor and Trailer ride is accessible to those who can be lifted or climb two steps with assistance.
Automatic doors are in use around the farm, including reception. The reception area is open plan to aid lip reading and visitors with visual impairments.
Both the Farm Park map and activity sheet are available in large print when requested in advance.
