Barleylands Farm is a fantastic destination for those who have chosen to become home educators.

Did you know we have a museum on site? Our wonderful Discovery Centre is a museum where children and adults alike can explore our interactive displays and discover so much about food and farming through the ages. We can also provide one of our “did you know” question sheets which can be requested at the time of booking.

The Discovery Centre also houses our reptile centre, so there is plenty of opportunities to link your learning to science, history and many other curriculum topics.

Outside you can visit our animal barn, the animals in our paddocks, along with the Wallaby Walk, Imperial Birds of Prey, our wildlife walk, and even our bee hives.

We have an option for visitors to add a Farmer Tour to their day. Please see more on this, below.

Farmer Tours

You can book an hour’s Farmer Tour, giving you time with one of our farmers which can be tailored to your needs.

The one-hour Farmer Tour is an additional £50.00 (excluding vat) on top of the entrance fee. If you would like more information on Farmer Tours, please take a look at our dedicated page.

Visiting in Groups

Many of our home schoolers visit in groups, which is a much more cost-effective way to visit.

These visits are self-guided, and we require more than 15 paying customers over the age of two to obtain group rates.

Prices for group visits excluding VAT: £10.50 per person, September to May and £11.50 per person, June & July. Under 2’s £2.00 excluding VAT.  The group booking includes a FREE child ticket for all children over 2 to come back and visit the farm.  This ticket is not valid against any future school/group visits).  Please enquire for further details.

If you are bringing a large group, you can upgrade to have your own personal tractor ride, free animal feed, and an undercover base (extra £1 per person).

For groups bringing more than 25 paying customers, please contact [email protected] or complete a booking enquiry form, and our education officer will be able to help with your group rate and requests.  Larger groups do need to book two weeks in advance and invoices need to be settled prior to the date of your visit.

Please note, weekend and school holiday group visits do not include a free day pass to come back and visit the farm park.

For individual bookings, please visit our Farm Park booking page, and make sure you book online to obtain our on-line booking price.
