Indoor Play Barn

At Barleylands we have two barns offering indoor play for children of all ages.

In the Indoor Play Barn you’ll find sky high slides, cargo nets, poles and chicanes. Will you brave our drop slide into the balls or race down our colourful astra slide?

Toddlers have their own designated play area with their own mini slide and pint-size frame so they can play safely.

We have a Tiptree Café in the Indoor Play Barn which sells cream teas, toasties, hot drinks, kids’ lunches and more!

Showdown Shed

Our Showdown Shed can be found at the bottom of the farm. Full of action the whole family can enjoy trying to shoot each other with the foam balls, and little ones will love its Monsoon ball shower!

Found just next door is our giant undercover sandpit filled with 10 tonnes of sand, complete with buckets and spades and our Diddy Cars – perfect for little ones.

Undercover picnic areas can also be found within the barn – so there’s plenty to do whatever the weather.

Discovery Centre

The Discovery Centre is the perfect place for young explorers to learn about the history of farming, discover more about the Essex countryside and how we used to live.

The importance of agriculture and farming to this part of Essex, here in Billericay, and beyond, is something we celebrate here at Barleylands. Our interactive displays encourage young children to discover more about where their food comes from.

We have an impressive selection of vintage machinery, tractors, carts and other farming equipment from through the ages.

Nocturnals and Exotics House

Our Nocturnals and Exotics House opened in 2020 and is home to fascinating exotic and nocturnal creatures, many of which  you can’t see anywhere else in Essex. Come and find out more about fruit bats, sugar guilders, skunk, tenrec, hedgehogs, snakes, tree frogs, chameleon, lizards, toads, turtles and more. Don’t miss the daily talks for weird and wonderful facts and up close encounters.

Animal Barn

Whatever the season, whatever the weather, our Animal Barn gives children and families the chance to get close to farm animals – and even feed them – inside a warm, cosy barn.

You can feed, stroke and get lots of selfies with our animals every day. They love attention from our visitors and our friendly team are always on hand to answer any questions you may have.

Depending on the season, other activities we run are Meet the Donkeys, Feed the Lambs, Small Animal Petting, Pony Grooming and more

Big Barleylands Barn

Our newest edition to the Farm Park is our huge events barn, which is always full of seasonal entertainment and animals.

Some of you may have seen it transformed into a Santa’s Grotto but we also use it for lambing and kidding in the Spring, undercover craft activities such as pumpkin painting for Halloween and performances by Skittleman during the school holidays.
