Lambing at Barleylands Farm Park has begun!
Barleylands Farm Park is delighted to welcome the arrival of several newborn lambs, marking the start of the lambing season.
The lambs featured in our latest video are Hampshire Down rare breed lambs, born to mum Hilda at around 10pm last night, 15th January. Hilda gave birth to a boy and girl, with Farm Park Manager Jordan Bailey on hand to assist with the first lamb’s delivery.
Following Hilda’s labour, another two male lambs were born to mum Lucille, and a further two boys arrived this morning to mum Winifred, making it a busy and exciting time on the farm.
Visitors to Barleylands can now come along to see our newborn lambs in the Big Barleylands Barn and, if they’re lucky, may even witness a lamb being born. During the February half-term, the Farm Park will also be hosting orphan lamb bottle-feeding demonstrations, giving the public a hands-on opportunity to learn more about lamb care and farming life.
